CLP 2008

“United in Love, United in Service, United for God”

(Behind the Scene of Christian Life Program)

CFC-Singles for Christ Mendez Unit recently held the Christian Life Program. A series of seminar which aims to bring our fellow single men and women closer to our Loving God.

Months before it started, I was designated to be the team leader along with Sis. Myrene. At first, I was hesitant to take it for I know of the big responsibility it comes with. My closest brothers in the community (bro.Ichad,Ronald and Zernan) talked to me. They told me that I won’t be alone because they’re at my side always ready to support. After few times of encouragements, I finally agreed to take it.

That time, active members were less than ten persons. It would be very hard for us to start the CLP with just a few service team members. So we, along with the Unit Heads and Chapter Heads, planned for a fellowship/reunion for the old inactive members and put it into action. Some responded to our God’s call to go back into service. It had been successful.

Then we went on with the evangelization. We were in the midst of it when my partner (Sis Mhy) had a rather big problem resulted to give up the position of being the team leader. The moment had shaken the team again. We talked to her, gave advices and POOF!!! She was ok and took the responsibility again.

The Orientation and Talk 1 came. We were all shocked because the support from our brothers and sisters from Trece and Indang was astounding. They were more than twice the number of us and we were very thankful to that. But our participants were so few. I was deeply affected so I asked myself “where did we go wrong?”

We evangelized again the next Saturday with Tito Harold’s upliftment for us not to lose hope.

The day after came for Talk 2. Minutes have passed and there were only five participants. We failed again I said. We decided to wait for another few minutes before we start the talk. All of a sudden, people came one after the other not noticing they were already more than 20. We were all relieved so we went on.

As the CLP went on, the number of service team members is downsizing. We went back to the time when we were just planning. Thank God Tito Harold is with us all throughout so we stood up and pursue.

Then the dedication came. Everyone was so happy singing and dancing for the Lord God. Giving thanks for the time has come for the participants to become one of God’s Army, to be part of the community of the CFC-Singles for Christ. We felt really blessed for we have been used by God to heal the hearts of the new graduates and open their hearts to Jesus. Some went emotional including myself for at last, we harvested 20 new members. The exact number we targeted.

Now I knew the reason why I suddenly cried at home while listening to the song “You Said” before the start of the CLP. It is because we asked and we will receive. I’ve realized that God was telling me even before the start of the CLP that we will succeed. It is proven that no matter how hard, no matter how many obstacles and oppressions, we can surpass everything if we are united. Hence our unit’s theme; “United in Love, United in Service, United for God”.
